Keep your existing window

Changing your windows is disruptive and often prohibited by condo management. Our system is simply added onto your existing window.

Soundproof sliding doors

Sliding doors and windows are particularly prone to noise-leaking as they don't seal tightly. No problem for Magnetite - it works for sliding, too!

Invisible from the outside

Your condo management won't be able to tell that you have installed Magnetite and will happily give their approval as the façade remains untouched.

Custom-made panels

We tailor the thickness of the acrylic glazing, the opening system and the size of the air cavity to fit your needs.

Quick installation

Our process requires no hacking and there will be minimal mess.

7-year functional warranty

This is to ensure long-lasting quality and workmanship.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I don't want to change my windows; can you soundproof them?

A: Yes, we can, we add a layer of acrylic glazing on the inside of your existing window and transform it into a high performing double-glazed window.

Q: How does your system work on my existing windows?

A: We install a slimline uPVC frame with a steel tape around your existing window. Then we attach our acrylic panels with a magnetic clip to achieve a total air seal. The air seal, together with the air gap between the original window and the acrylic and the use of soundproof material, is key to the soundproofing.

Q: My windows / sliding doors are huge; can you still soundproof them?

A: Generally, yes, however there are some size limits for single panels. Also, sometimes accessibility through the lift or staircase might limit the size of a single panel. We have done 3-meter bay windows and are known to find a creative and effective solution. A Solution Expert can discuss with you the potential options.

Q: After installing your system, can I still open my windows?

A: Yes, you can! All of our panels are always removable to allow access to the original window for cleaning and maintenance. If you open your windows regularly for ventilation, we recommend our Magnetite Easyglide or Slider system which allow you to open your panels very easily.

Q: How much noise can you reduce?

A: Our system can achieve a 50% to 70% noise reduction. We use 3rd-party test facilities to verify these figures.

Q: We live on very high floor; will this be a challenge?

A: No. This will not be an issue for our system, we install on the inside of your existing window.

Q: Do I need to apply for permit from my Condo Management?

A: It depends on the individual Condo Management. In most cases, yes it will be required. To date, this has never been an issue as our install is on the interior and invisible from the outside.

Q: How long is the installation?

A: It depends on the size of the window/sliding door and the complexity of the work. It usually takes one day, though for very large or several windows multiple days might be needed. You can sleep in the room in the evening even during longer installs as we will clear everything neatly away.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Our cost depends almost entirely on the actual size of the window. Therefore, we will need the measurements of your window/sliding door in order to give a cost estimate.

Q: What colour can I choose?

A: Our standard colours are black, white and grey. Other colours can be discussed case by case.

Q: How does Magnetite compare to real double glazing? What performs better?

A: Our solutions can achieve the same performance as traditional double-glazed windows. For sliding windows and doors the performance of Magnetite is superior.

Q: We live in a rented apartment. Can the product be removed if the landlord asks us to?

A: Yes it can. We recommend you let your Estimator know during the site visit so we can take this in account during estimating and installation.

Q: I have a baby / young child at home and want to keep disturbance to a minimum. Can you explain how work will be done?

A: On the day of the install we will cover your floors with carpet and the furniture with drop sheets. The work space is largely limited to the room where the installation takes place. In many cases we will have to do some drilling to the wall but this is limited to a short time period and we use vacuum dust extraction on our drill. We have done many installs where the clients advised us of the sleeping schedule of the babies beforehand and we ensured we only do quiet work during this time. Please discuss this with your Estimator during the site visit. In the evening, after our crew is gone, you will be able to use your room normally and enjoy the newfound quiet
